Welcome to Carterville Acres!
Carterville Acres Family Campground was established in 2008, formally known as Camp Glengarra Girl Scouts Camp, which dated back to 1950. The quiet and wooded parcel holds the forgotten beauty of the wilderness. The campground adjoins Carterville Pond which is 230 acres of serene surroundings for nature enthusiasts.
Carterville Acres Family Campground is located in Central New York Central New York in the Southern Tug Hill area, in the Town of Amboy. Directions and a map are on our Directions page.
The campground is nestled on 212 acres with a 230 acre pond. We offer two types of camping cabins, trailer sites some with full hook ups, tent and tent platform sites. Each site has its own fireplace or fire ring and picnic table.
Carterville Pond has a sandy beach, swimming, and canoe and rowboat rentals. We have access to Panther Lake for fishing and motorized boating.
We are open year-round for all your outdoor activities. During Spring, Summer, and Fall we offer camping, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, or just kicking back. In the Winter we offer heated cabins for the Winter enthusiast. We have direct access to State Snowmobile Trail C4. There are trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Ice fishing at Carterville Pond and Panther Lake. So come enjoy the outdoors, relax and have fun!
